A Million Stars

A million hearts stopped beating
A million dreams denied.
And grief flows like an ocean
Its current deep and wide.

A million hearts are broken,
A million tears are shed,
As Covid rages onward
A million prayers are said.

A million stars light up the night,
Peaceful and serene.
Beyond the deadly clutches
Of Covid nineteen.

They twinkle now so brightly
In the vast infinity
And in the calm night sky
They shine down, lovingly.

Dedicated to all those throughout the world,
who lost their battle with Covid 19, and to their loved ones.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamnacha go léir.
