John Hennessy absolutely 1000%. What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this amazing man. His dedication to the town and its organisations and businesses is unmatched. The definition of a gentleman. Always willing to help at the drop of a hat. Within the red cross we couldn’t be luckier to have him, always willing to pass on his knowledge and support where he can. I dont think there is anyone in the town who hasn’t been a witness to his generosity, kindness and selflessness. His work behind the scenes is immense and never looks for credit or recognition which is why it is only fitting that he is nominated.
If I was to start listing I wouldn’t be able to stop !!
The town of Cobh would be lost without our John.❤

“This could not have happened to a more worthy person. John has been at the heart of everything ‘Cobh’ for decades. His worth was recognised some years, ago by the late Cllr Claire Cullinane who nominated him for the County Mayor Volunteer Awards. Having been involved with John on several groups including the Robert Ford Memorial Committee and currently Cork Harbour Islands Project (CHIP) he is a thorough gentleman sharing his vast historical knowledge with everyone who contacts him. His value to Cobh Red Cross is immense as can be seen by the accolades from his fellow members. Huge congratulations to John on this most deserved award”
